Charlotte Prayer Revival

From January 25th -May 4th, 2023

One hundred days of prayer across our city and region.
Starting on January 25th and culminating on May 4th, the National Day of Prayer.

Partnering with a visiting Korean team of intercessors to pray for revival:
for our city and the nation.

100 Days of Prayer to Prepare the Way

In 1973, Billy Graham held his largest crusade ever in Seoul, Korea, preaching to an estimated 3.2 million people over 5 days, propelling South Korea into an era of explosive evangelical growth and revival. It was considered a key milestone in the history of the Korean church. The church there would develop into a missionary-sending body and gain a reputation for fervent and persistent prayer.

Forty-nine years later, almost to the day, the World School of Prayer in Korea sent 200 intercessors to the United States to serve the Church here and to pray alongside with her for another great awakening.

The visit, which took place in early June 2022 during Pentecost week, made a significant difference.
• It ignited renewed hunger for God among many individuals from various churches citywide.
• It inspired congregations to recommit and rededicate themselves to persistent prayer.
• It gave new courage to the Church to seek spiritual transformation in our nation, especially as we saw God answer in mighty ways.

In 2023, churches are South Korea are raising up by faith 400 intercessors.
The plan is now to send 40+ teams of 10 intercessors each to receptive cities across the United States. The timeframe is for early May, during the week of America’s National Day of Prayer.

One of those cities is Charlotte, North Carolina.
The birthplace of Billy Graham. The site of a multi-church revival among many Charlotte churches in 1973.
A key city in this region of the Carolinas, which saw an abundance of Revivals break out during the 2nd Great Awakening.

Lord, do it again!

In May 2023, 400 South Korean Intercessors go to 40 US Cities Praying for Revival

There is one key difference this year.

Last year, the Korean intercessors made great sacrifices to come here. Moreover, months before the visit, hundreds – if not thousands – of local Christians in South Korean prayed intensely for this trip, for revival in our country.

What was missing was a matching intensity in the American cities. As Korea prayed for our nation, how many believers in our U.S. cities were laboring to cry out to Heaven for an outpouring?

This year, in 2023, things need to be different.

The difference is a grass-roots movement to prepare our hearts for a great move of the Lord. We are inviting whomever will listen to join the Body of Christ locally to pray for 100 days leading up to a Region-wide Call to Prayer during the National Day of Prayer on May 4th.

• Day 1 will be Wednesday, January 25th, 2023.
• Day 100 culminates on Thursday, May 4th, 2023. The National Day of Prayer.

There will weekly guides to help people focus on Scripture and various prayer points. A few special events will be planned in the city, and we will encourage fasting at key junctures on this journey.

It is going to be a John the Baptist season, as we make ready to prepare the way for the Lord.

But the bottom line is: The Church needs to start praying!

THE FINAL STRETCH: A Time of Fasting and Prayer. Apr 26th – May 10th

For the last week of these 100 days PLUS the week while the Korean intercessors are in the States, we are calling for a final season of intense prayer and fasting. Please fast and pray as the Spirit leads you from Wed April 26th until Wed May 10th. Our battle is not against flesh and blood…

SPECIAL EVENTS IN OUR CITY

During the week of the National Day of Prayer (early May), we will be hosting large group events as well as ones in more personal settings. There will be at least 5 large Citywide Events that any church or individual believer can attend and be a part of.

The Korean intercessors team will be adding their voices to those already in our city to pray for Revival. Our heart is to see another Great Awakening that will see a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our city, the Carolinas, and the nation.

ROOFTOP PRAYER – Tuesday May 2nd. Top of the Hyatt Place Hotel

ON THE ROOFTOP.

Before this week’s activities began, the Korean team joined with many of the Pastors of our Host Churches and other leaders to survey the cityscape of Charlotte together. and to ask God to show us 3 things:

1. What He sees as He looks upon the city
2. What is on His heart for the people of the city
3. What is blocking us from taking further steps to serve our city

We wanted to listen for God’s leading before taking any next steps (following the pattern in Acts 10).

WHAT PEOPLE HEARD and SAW:

• One person saw a picture of angels standing in the city, some as tall as the tallest skyscraper. They stood by each building and on every block, and they filled in the gaps, faced the city, and their eyes were attentively fixed on the city.

• There was a vision of how beautiful and blossoming the city is, but at times her heart has revolted against the Lord.

• Another person talked about seeing one building in the distance that was a mixture of different styles and colors and glass and walls. It reminded him of the Church that is made up of many diverse groups of believers. Yet, together they make up one building, one Body, to honor God. The gates of Hell cannot prevail against it.

• Another person saw streams of living water flooding our city streets to bring life-giving water to all those dying of thirst. The city, which has had a spirit of Mammon over its financial district, can show great generosity.

• One woman saw the tower with a hole in it, and while she admired the beauty of the building, she also felt like the Spirit was saying there was something evidently missing. There was a gap that pointed to a disconnection with God’s heart.

• One person saw a hawk or eagle flying near one of the tallest buildings nearby. It was already soaring high above 30 floors, when it started to ascend and circle the building until it flew past the very top. It was a reminder of Isaiah 40, that God can renew our strength and make us soar as a unified Church on wings like eagles… if only we let the Spirit lift us up.

• Another person saw a field initially populated with a few bright tulips. The scene progressed into two possible scenarios: one, a blossoming field bursting with an abundance of beautiful tulips, or two, a field that was empty and burnt over. It is urgent that we the Church unify and pray together.
